Bigio: the biscuit of S. Pellegrino
We simply call it Bigio. Around here, the name speaks for itself.
It all began in 1932, in the fragrant corner of our pastry shop in San Pellegrino Terme, when Luigi “Bigio” Milesi — puppeteer and pastry chef — offered it to the audience at his shows. Children, delighted with the gift, would turn the buttery half-moon into mustaches, eyebrows and smiles before savoring every bite.
Since then, Bigio – named after our favorite pastry chef – hasn’t changed: quality butter, expert hands and a simple goodness that fits any moment of the day.
It smells like home baking, offering the strength of a dunking biscuit and the delicate crumble of a dessert. And that final touch of saltiness? It cuts through the sweetness and keeps you coming back for more…

Whether dipped in tea, filled with jam or cocoa cream, served with ice cream or enjoyed on its own, Bigio is perfect at any time of the day and never loses its charm.

Even today, our biscuits are made in the same bakery, using fresh ingredients and a recipe that hasn’t changed. They evoke the shortbreads made at home: simple, genuine, a symbol of a place where sweetness and sincerity have always met.
That’s Bigio: it brings a smile even before you take a bite.
Production: made here, made right
Bigio Biscuits are made and packed daily right here in San Pellegrino Terme.
Our production is still artisanal, with careful control over every step: from mixing the dough to baking, and all the way to packaging.
We use only fresh and high-quality ingredients, following a short and traceable supply chain.
Our automatic packaging machine is guided by expert hands, because here, technology and tradition walk together.
And for anyone looking for something tailor-made, our Bigio For program provides personalized packaging for events and special occasions.
Bigio travels across Italy
Such a delicious biscuit couldn’t stay just in its hometown.
Thanks to partnerships with major retailers, Bigio now travels across the country and comes straight to your home.
The smile of the marionettes
Luigi “Bigio” Milesi, both puppeteer and pastry chef, used to charm audiences with his biscuits.
Today, his marionettes remain here, between the pastry shop and the hotel, reminding us that sweetness comes from hands that shape dough and craft smiles with a buttery half-moon.
